Great Adventures??

What would be a great adventure for you? What is on your life agenda that you want to make happen!!

Rock Climibing?
Hike a mountain?
Ride a Bull...RUN WITH THE BULLS?

What do you wish to do in life that will get that blood flowing that you just talk about with friends?

Will U ever make it happen?

I'm not a risk taker. The typical adventure-y stuff holds no interest for me. I don't need to come close to death to feel alive.
That said, I've recently set a goal for myself to visit all the continents I haven't yet in the next 10 years. And hopefully, that means lots of cultures I have no experince of. The only thing that scares me is going to places that have lots of and large bugs. I'm so damn phobic of them, that's adventure enough for me.

Not a fan of adventure (had enough to last me a lifetime already).

To continue to be as happy as I've been for the past few years and to be a good person.

Getting to the point of having no bills, I will be there in 3 years, except my school loan, which is nothing... compared to living costs.

When I have no more meaningful duties here (meaning my parents), I wish to travel and teach in underprivileged communities, not specifically because they are underprivileged but more so for the culture. I feel not only could I bring education to them, they would be educating me about life as well.

I feel I work with a wide range of families, in many different economic/financial situations now. The culture at my work is truly multicultural, people from all over the world, literally.

I don't ask when this will all take place, I just know it's my fate. I am living that fate right now actually in many ways.

Also, I have always found it fascinating how people just up and leave to another country not knowning the language and where English is not a form of communication. I have always wanted to do this as well, because for the life of me, I have not been able to learn Spanish. lol

Hang Gliding is one experience I wish to try soon. I already climb mountains. wink

I was doing some work at the nurse's station and I saw this travel book to Fiji. The owner of that book, a nurse... came up and I asked, so are you traveling soon? For pleasure or study? She said for pleasure. I don't know how we got into the conversation, but she started to share about one of her friends who did this study on a desserted island, just off California. She was to stay there alone for 4 months and count species of birds and study their flight patterns, etc. That is something that I truly find adventurous, even brave lol, now that is interesting to me.

Environmentalist, perhaps soon to be. That may be another one of my adventures.

Ok, I'm done. I need to start getting ready for work.

I hope to someday go for a hot air balloon ride and sky dive.
I am not really a thrill seeker, I just like to try new things and have fun learning from new experiences.
I cannot wait to learn more about the Sri Lankan culture when we got to visit. Just the thrill of traveling to a new country and seeing how the ppl live amazes me.

I used to enjoy hiking and mountain biking in my younger days.

I want to start scuba diving again...but the time to do so is limited...as soon as my son is old enough, he wants to get certified, so maybe that will present more opportunity to go diving...

What!!! Hiking and biking are endless forms of activity... young days. lol
About that Sri Lanka trip... a place I specifically wish to go.
I meet an elder lady who was from Sri Lanka, (she was a patient), anyways, she owns a Montessori school here in Mesa. Montessori education is highly used in Sri Lanka and a form of education that will always be within my educational approach. I taught Montessori for 9 years. I would love to hear more about this experience upon your return, or even... while you are there. I hope to teach there one day, seriously.

No.. I know that I will hike more in my life time. There are many places that I would like to see that have beautiful hiking trails. I hope this spring/summer to hike around my new home, beautiful England. big grin
I am not sure about mountain biking though.

I am just like that. Travelling to different places definitely is adventourous and very interesting and I have learned a lot about life doing so. At the moment I don't feel like doing it. But I am sure a time will come when I will continue travel the world.
When I as a child I often had dreams of going through the jungle and last year I finally did some tropical rain forest hikes at last when I was on vacation in Trinidad/Tobago. One of them was really amazing. Only me, my bf and a local friend who grew up in the forest and showed us everything including huge spiders and butterflies, all the different insects and plants and the most dangerous snake of all Middle America. So that was my biggest adventure so far, who knows how and if I will top that lol .

I keep hearing that I weigh too much. I'm told 250 is the weight limit. I weigh 275!

This is the happiest I've been in a long time.

I get to see my children explore things that are new to them all the time, their faces light up. This is what I would want my adventure to do to me... make my face light up in a childlike way... something new and different. Like discovering a new type of flora in some isolated jungle in South America somewhere, or to celebrate New Year's in China.

You're absolutely right. But the weight's all muscle! hmmm Would it be easy for you to lose about 20 pounds like that? I can't imagine.

When we went the first time, a friend of mine, built like you, was 10 pounds over the limit. The scale at the place we were at was ghetto and inaccurate, and told him he would be fine. He said the only problem weighing so much was that when they pulled the parachute, it hurt like HELL on his armpits and groin, which is where the loops hold you. When you're falling at such a rate attached tandem to another body, you gain a shitload of momentum and the pull of gravity hurts even the lightest person.

He had painful rashes in those areas for a couple weeks afterward.

And he was only ten pounds over!! I guess I will have to consult the expert when I go.

And yes....25 pounds of muscle is hard to lose!

Damn!

I think I weigh about 95 lol. That's why I can't donate blood as there is a minumum weight limit.

Yes, I know and I also know about the 10 or so inches you keep mentioning lol.

I am 5'25" and apart from certain situations such as concerts I am quite happy about my height (or lack of) wink .
