When meals IN are better than meals OUT

I love eating out and being treated and such, but there does come a time when your cooking (or that of your friends/partner whoever) excels that of some of the finest restaurants you may frequent.

Or am I (we) getting old? eek

I personally love cooking, I love the cooking, the company, making my own dishes, sitting around in home comforts with nearest and dearest drinking fine wines and exquisite food, I know I will like at a fraction of the price.. and relaxing afterwards in ones home comforts..

yeah the dirty dishes that come is a boo.. but it is a small price to pay..

yeah?

My favorite sound at home is the sound of the dishwasher running after a great family meal.

My place is too small to have a diswasher and I do kinda like old chores like washing dishes, ironing, and cooking in the oven instead of using a microwave machinegun

But I just love being in the kitchen and making it my own.. biggrin

I love both in equal measure, I like going out but I also love the intimacy of enjoying eating in with friends and a good bottle of wine.

I can't choose.

I've been a disaster in the kitchen until recently, so it's always been going out for me. But despite my tiny place, I have a huge kitchen now and am trying my best to use it more and invite others over.
Oh shit, my hat done fell off

It's rainy and cold, so my hubby is putting together Meze: middle eastern appetizers. It's so much food, it's enough for a main course. Feta, eggplant salad, olives, stuffed grape leaves, fried cubed liver with paprika, yogurt and cucmber, hummus, sliced tomatoes, pita bread, chicken with walnut sauce.....YUM. Plus the house smells good. razz

All I can cook is a toast. Oh, and boil water. So I prefer eating out. Plus, it's no fun cooking just for myself. I think the feedback of others is part of what makes cooking, fun.
