I'm near Buffalo wave as are Meggy and Igopogo.
There's a whole smack-load of Orgers just over the border in Canada.

Finger Lakes? I drive to Canandaigua every couple of weeks for my nephews.
There's other people here that are not all that far either.

Yup. Finger Lakes area.

Beautiful in the summer, awful in the winter... but still beautiful, I guess.

Thanks to the Army, I spent 7 years out of 15 in the service at Ft. Drum in the Watertown area....initially not the place for a guy from the deep South (New Orleans!), but I ended up loving it up there....

I've been here 4 seven years now, and the weirdest thing about upstate NY is that it seems there R NO Prince fans. I've lived in a few different areas, and this is certainly the most Prince-less place I've been.

Of course, since I moved here from D.C., it feels even more dramatic, as there is much love 4 Prince in D.C.

So if U know others in the area, get them 2 post here. We gotta start something. Let's get it started.

Easy,

My wife wants to move off of Long Island (too expensive here) and she wants to look around upstate. The b*tch of it is that I'd have to commute all the way to the middle of Nassau County (at least until I found a job up there).

However, I'm not sure that my wife is taking the weather into consideration.

Yeah, I hear you about Nassau County(I grew up in Uniondale). Expensive as hell, and taxes are a MFer. But don't even think about moving until you get a job first. That commute will kill you. And in bad weather, those hilly upstate roads are treacherous.

I live in the Bronx. I'm in Co-op City so I think I can literally walk out of the city into Mt Vernon or Westchester, whatever's closer. One of my best friends lives in Albany.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Oh cool. I have to take the 6 train past Castle Hill to get to work so that's real easy to get to.
