My friend died Probably no one on here will recognize the name "William Scarboro," but he was a major programmer for Apogee. He worked on "Rise of the Triad," and "Prey." Prey was never released, but its level editor (Preditor) inspired Apogee's later releases.
William was a master of math and 3D graphics. I always encouraged him to outperform John Carmack (the creator of Doom, Quake, etc.) but he wasn't the same kind of character as Carmack...math and C++ mattered more to William than video games. Anyways...he died of an asthma attack of all things, rather unexpectedly, at the age 31. I will miss him...  Fear is the mind-killer. | |

Very sad...sad, indeed.

Thx everyone...I'm not so broken up about it anymore as his mother still is. My job is to make him matter somehow in the future. I mainly wondered if anyone on here knew of his work...he "almost famous" so to speak. Fear is the mind-killer. | |

Absolutely, I'm definitely a fan of Apogee's work. I'm a bit of a 3D maths head myself too since I'm in the same line of work as your friend, so I appreciate his accomplishments! Pity he died so young though, 31 is too young. | |

Teller, I'm sorry for this. He may rest in Peace. Do let him lieve in your remembers of the great times you've had together. I do still 'talk' to my father, he dies at the age from 37. And i beliefe he hear me and do never let me alone. I beliefe he is still alive, but diffrent ways as we. | |
