Atonement I was surprised that I would liek this movie, but Iam not sure if it deserves the oscar for best pic. Best direction maybe (the films does look gorgeous, and the tracking shot on the dunkirk section is quite amazing), but its still a good movie. Am I the only one who still thinks Keira knightly tries too hard with her accent? We know she is naturally quite posh, but she overuses it somewhat is this film. Props go the blonde actresses who portrayed the main character of the piece (briany?), both her as a kid and a teen are both miles better and more natural then the headline stealing Keira (though to be fair, Keira's character had little to do, but I feel she overacts somewhat in some scenes), and James Mcavoy, who again proves what a great actor he is (anyone remember him in tv series "shameless"? I guess his character wont be coming back LOL)

I look at the book every week when I'm at Borders and I'm this close to picking it up.
Anyone read it? Any good? "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

Anyone read it? Any good? I would like to read it after just seeing the movie. Apparantly the movie stays quite close to the book, so it should be good in my eyes. See the movie aswell, I was surprised by how good it was. Not great, but worth your time definately. [Edited 2/14/08 22:18pm]
