FAMILY AFFAIRS

I wanted to expand on how my family has been so successful in supportive of each other. Our family is unique to a degree because our ties go well beyond Mom Dad and kids...but cousins all play a role, elders play a role, uncles, aunts, godparents....it's quite amazing!

Our family created a family fund where the working members all contribute monies to a fund in a bank account and it is used for ANYTHING from hard times, unemployment, emergencies, college expenses for the younger members, etc.

My family has a host of leaders and we all have been so united as a family since I have been born.

My nephew just moved on his own and begun school on his own accord. I told him that I was so proud of his maturity and finding his niche in life and I would buy his most expensive book. He just called me yesterday to thank me. This goes on throughout my entire family. We convene to establish who gets what assistance and how monies are disbursed.

Just something to think about.....

peace

That sounds like a really GOOD idea! I think I am going to follow suit with that idea of a community savings. It will start with me and my "family" and hopefully continue to spread.

Really good idea, who came up with the idea, Dex?

The "Family Fund" has been in place for at least 30 years now....it was just an ideas implemented by the elders at that time. I think I was about 13 when it began.

What a lovely idea, and I thought my family was close because we have Sunday dinners together, 17 members strong.

Seriously, GREAT idea. You are blessed!

It is inspiring, and I am really going to emplement one for my family and hope that it will continue like yours.

Nice Dex! I like hearing positive things like this for once instead of all the bitching I hear from people about their dysfunctional families. No wonder you got your head on straight homie!
