A man crush of sorts, I guess, but it's just the guy as a human being. He was a cool looking cat back in the day though. Mon and I just LOVE this man and he was, and still is, just so cute and exuberant.

Lola was singer-dancer-actress-all around entertainer, a 70's version of the "so-called" triple threats we have in pop culture today, like the J-Los, Beyoncés, and so on. Within the span of a year you would see her on popular tv shows, or endorsing beauty products (you know, hair color, lipstick beauty creams, etc), or hosting her own variety specials, or touring with Veagas Rat Packers as the opening act. Basically doing the old school version of what a lot of our younger mega starlets do now. I guess the difference is that then people weren't making the kind of money artists make now, and our lives weren't infiltrated by the internet as it is now reporting a person's every move, so it's harder for a lot of people to recall our old schoolers... ...unlike today when the media plasters these girls all over the place even if they're just at the store buying milk. I remember when the only time you knew anything about what a celeb was doing was if you heard them on the radio, or you saw them on tv WORKING. | |
