Anyways. I suppose that how the relationship ends dictates if you want to hang on to keepsakes. I tend not to want stuff or pics from peeps I hung out with a short time.

The two longer relationships I had both ended in ways that I was able to retain or friendship or amazing memories. So then I tend to hang onto keepsakes; the dried first rose I got form my first bf. SIlly notes from both bf's.

You know, nostalgic stuff.

I did a lot of professional work with my ex and I hang on to those things. They are also my accolades as well...sorry fucker!

Bad thing is the pictures I have of events and successes include him. Oh well. I went way further with all of those things than he did so I guess it is true that success is the best revenge!

Oh yeah, and I am NEVER getting rid of the jewelry either!

I burnt every and anything an ex ever gave me. Almost started a huge fire in the kitchen the first time I did it.

I also noticed he was stealing photos of him and I from my online account and cutting me out!!! So I deleted most of them and only kept a select few that I liked and labeled the folder Dick Nose...and locked it.

I have all my love letters. I started keeping them around 1980. I keep them in a big leather bag, and I tell anyone new about them. I don't like jealous men, so if they have a problem, it's on them. About every 5 years, I take them out and read a few. I laugh. I remember. I wonder how I was so naive to believe that gushing mess. But, I figure when I'm an old, old lady, lying in bed or in an old folk's home, I will have these to pull out and reminisce over. *sigh*

The only guy that did end up getting most of his stuff burned was my last ex. I found a ceramic jar in a thrift store that had "Ashes of Old Lovers" written on it. I bought it, and burned all his crap in the sink, and put it in the jar on the shelf. I wanted to remember what NOT to do again. Never try to "rehab" anyone.
