I've had a fair few! I worked in a glass factory when I was 16 and they put me on a night shift. My job was to pull glass out of a furnace. Once I nearly broke my pelvic bone when a crate of glass was pushed into me. One night, I was idly chatting with the foreman and I told him my age. He sent me home at 2am in the morning and I had to walk 5 miles to get home. sad

I lived in a small town in Wyoming and when I was 17 I worked at the local butchers business during deer hunting season.Well I was paid $2 a deer to dress em out and cut em up.Needless to say I only made $6 dollars before I said screw this and quit. barf

Another bad one was Taco Smell when I was 15,that place was nasty and there were roaches everywhere.I no longer eat at Taco Bell for that reason ! Another barf job: !

I would not call it a worst job,but I also worked in an adult sex shop! Now that was fun got 2 see all the new videos and check out all the new toys.Plus the fact that I meet a few freaks that shopped there and hooked up with em 4 a booty call. The worst part was cleaning up the Peep Show Booths. So I gave this homeless guy $20 a week 2 clean up all the spilled sperm on the floor and video monitors. sperm barf

Thankfully, we didn't have a theatre or booths. They tend to be gay trade/troll hookup locations anyways, lol, so plenty of sperm to be spilled there ill
Ours was more like a Spencer's gift shop, but with xxx merchandise. I've met some REALLY intersting folks from that gig. lol But, I wouldn't ever dream of working in one of those nowadays. I just don't want to know that much about folks. I really dont.

For real, about 15 years ago when she lived here in Santa Barbara. She was not a nice person at all, she was very rude and demeaning, and it trickled on to her kids as well. Someone I had known for years had recommended me to her, she was in a fix because her children's nanny was stuck in england without a visa. My job lasted about a year, I only stayed because the money was excellent.

I was a prop for a medical class at some college when I was 14.
I had to lay on a bed and keep my eyes close like I was dead. I had fake blood and fake cuts on me and grass and dirt and shit. And the students had to figure out what happened to me.

eek

When I was preggo with my last son I worked at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. I stayed till I was 8 months. they wanted us to scrub the toilets by hand shake. most of us including me, bought toilet brushes from the dollar store to use instead. It was really hard work cleaning 14-15 rooms in 8 hours. sometimes they would go easy on me and reduce my number, but it was still rough. I couldn't even look at my apartment when I got home lol

The most unusual is working at a mortuary nod

I've also worked doing mannequin modeling nod

I worked at a drywall yard. Imagine the fairy princess of gay land selling powertools and recommending metal studs and shit to lumberjacks lol It would have been better as a porn but not real life lol

Detasseling corn. biggrin

Basically for hybrid corn you don't want it to pollinate on its own so seed corn companies pay a bunch of junior high and high school kids to get up at the crack of dawn (seriously 4 or 5am) and walk through acres and acres of field corn row by row to pull the tassles off each individual corn stalk so it doesn't pollinate itself.

It sucked--it was wet (because we started before the sun came up and dried the dew, because it was cooler), it was hot (because it's July), there were all sorts of nasty bugs, there were only portable toilets, which you used at the risk of having the high school guys tip over while you were inside. I had cuts all up and down the insides of my arms from the corn leaves.

But as a 13 or 14 year old with no other job options, it paid really well. And as the article says, it really is a rite of passage. I only did it one year to prove I could, then I got a 'posh' job lifeguarding at the pool. lol

the worst isn't worth mentioning. it was just boring and gross.

the most unusual was when i spent a summer teaching drama to girls in a reform school. that was actually a very uplifting job, as unusual as it was.
