EEEk a MOUSE!!!!!!

I was just taking my wack ass mid-term exam online when out the corner of my eye I saw something running fast into my mother's room. Didn't know if it was a spider or not (i'm terrified of spiders) so i sprayed almost half a can of "Raid" in my room. So I'm wondering what the hell did I just see, when I see the damn thing running out of my mothers room into the living room behind the bookcase, and I mean this sucker was fast too. I saw its tail wagging realized the rodent was a mouse. It was kind of small but a little medium sized too and a gray color.

Now my mom has to call the rodent people tomorrow to what they can do unless we set traps for the thing. Mice don't bite do they? We don't know where the little sucker is now.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

we've seen a few rats at our place, but they are too smart to keep getting caught in the trap. We caught 3, then one day say a few of them running over to next doors - along our garage roof and then onto their roof, 3 in single file falloff

next door they probably get moussaka

but this is the first time I guess in 20 something years at this house (well i've been living here all my 25 years and getting ready to move out this summer....summer couldn't come fast enough I guess) that we have even seen a rodent like this inside the home. The house was built in the 50's though i think, if that makes any difference. confused

isn't it for every one you see there are XX you don't see? It probably means (and this is bad news) that they have multiplied. confused

Ask them nicely.

YES. And you should call them every spring to spray. It's that or you might as well make little beds for them and a tiny living room set. lol

They will bite you if you try and pick them up, otherwise they'll do everything they can to stay away from you.

You need to find out where it got in and make the necessary repairs. That's the only way to get rid of mice in your home.

I've worked with animals (including mice) as a profession and when I see a mouse (or anything really) scurry across the floor it still freaks me out.

Yes, they do.

But again, you need to also repair the area that they got in to totally solve the problem.

It could very well be that you've had mice in your home this whole time but they were just not able to enter your home proper. Many people have mice and bats in their attics, walls, etc but never know because they can't get into the living spaces of their homes.

Take a look around pipes (like under your kitchen sink) and you can easily fill in the spaces with steal wool so that you are blocking possible entry points.

There are many things you can do to animal proof your home.

OMG I remember the time we had mice in our student house when I was at uni.. they died under the floorboards and the stench was unbearable.. ill

I get the odd field mouse in, so its best to make sure the doors are closed esp in the summer..
I had one in my airing cupboard but I sucked it up with my vaccuum eek

My parents live in a very old house built 1869, and they have mice in the walls.. the little buggers trip the door bell, which can be scary when you are there home alone, the door bell rings and there is nobody there eek

That is very important to remember as well. If you are going to use poison (I'd never, ever recommend doing that, but if you do) you need to remember that the mice will die and decay, probably in areas you can't access - like walls (they take the food and store it to eat later not eat it right there). Be prepared to deal with the smell that comes with decaying animals.
