Whats it all about? Taking too much care of things: Part Uno

Some ppl can take things to EXTREME.. I am sure you are guilty or know what kind of ppl I am talking about..

I mean when ppl take care of things too much

for example:

Ok typical, and we all know of it: some ppl who put plastic protectors over their gorgeous suite, so it wont get grubby.. Maaann.. that looks crass

Or wiping the sink dry EVERY time you use it

Or cleaning and polishing your NEW garden tools after they have been used

Not sitting on the sofa so you dont mess up the cushions.. lol

I have loads of examples.. have ytou come across any extremes? eek

My friend who wore Prada shoes daily, refused to put them on concrete/cement/pavement/sidewalk, and would taxi everywhere so she wouldnt damage them..

Shoes are to protect the feet, right? and made for walking?

Fool.. lol

Tablecloths!!!

To protect the TABLE!!!

so why moan when something is spilled on the cloth?

most ppl would be LESS annoyed if it were spilled on the table than the actual cloth..

nuts

also, its easier to stay on top of things instead of waiting for things to be really messed up and harder to clean. IMO

the only thing I have let go of is cleaning the outside of my car when its sloppy like it has been for a couple weeks.
whats the point when as soon as you leave the car wash its going to be dirty by the time you get home.

There ya go, I am not extreme, I just like it to be neat. I know where it comes from. When I was growing up, my Mom and Dad each worked 2 jobs to make ends meet and provide for 4 kids. There really wasn't anyone at home keeping it in order, only so much 4 kids can do to clean. So, now I overly clean to make me feel better, crazy I guess.

I tried to be mindful of walking on the ends of my new jeans I just bought, knowing eventually they would get worn and torn soon enough. It took one day of forgetting and they were worn through. Slightly pissed.

I think people have different tolerance levels of what clean is.
To those with a high tolerance it might seem that people like myself are extreme.
I cant stand going to one of my GF flat where its all girls.
I thought girls were clean. lol
WRONG!!
the bathroom is the WORST falloff

I think so too because all of them are from that time give or take some years and they went without as a way of life. But DAMN some of that crap they could've gotten rid of.

When I was growing up, my friends never even wanted to come to my house because my mother was like that. Everything had to be 'just so'- sparkling and in perfect condition. God forbid she should discover a spoon in the sink! Even when I would spend an entire Saturday cleaning, she'd criticize the way I did it. I resented that terribly and when I got my first apartment, I was a complete slob because of that. I hated cleaning because she was just ridiculous about it.

I am older and I keep a tidy house now but there are going to be some days when I am going to go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink. And with a small child to raise, there's going to be the occasional french fry on the floor of my car; and I won't flip my lid over it.
