33 pounds pounds.... (Feb 17 Update) Damn.
I just want to say a few things. 1) I love my weight trainer. He's hawt. And I love him. That's all I have to say about that. 2) 26 pounds down! 24 more to go But wow, it's nice to start wearing some of my older clothes, though they're definitely so-two-years-ago now 3) I love being Raw-Vegan. I can't picture myself going back to eating SAD (standard American diet) full time ever again. Feb 17 Update : OK, 33 pounds down now. This is becoming a bit easy actually. I need to thank my weight trainer with a side of penis. Life is great. 28.5 pounds edit [Edited 2/11/08 7:11am] 33 pounds edit [Edited 2/17/08 8:40am]

It's basically no meat, dairy, or cooked/processed foods. It makes it a bit tricky in prep work as you use a dehydrator instead of oven or stove. And you can say goodbuy to rice, beans, etc. but seeds and nuts actually do a great job at replacing these things--I make a great sunflower seed/onion bread. Within 2 weeks of going raw, my skin changed for the better. My eczema, though still on my arms, is not nearly as bad. And other than the fact that Im' breaking out in pimples ever two weeks from detoxifying, I feel great. I just woke up and realized one day how nasty my standard diet was, and decided to do something about it. Plus observing Anxiety and some of the other vegitarians in Minneapolis made me realize how possible this could be.

You have to mix the cardio with resistance training. And when you lift, life REALLY heavy. The more muscle you can maintain or put on, the better it is for your metabolism. Plus I break a rule--I work out for more than the standard 30 min to an hour. I'll be at the gym for 2 to 2 1/2 most days--this of course is not sustainable. I'll cut back in summer when I get my old body back.

I have terrible will power and dobut I could resist my food! Mine was aweful. But after about two weeks of doing it, my taste for things changed. Plus there are RAW chocolate 'milk' shake recipes that are thick/creamy etc. that eased my transition. But yes--it does require will power.

That's great Dan!
I've lost 15 pounds in the last couple of months just by changing my eating habits. I've got 15 more to lose. I really need to get my ass to the gym.

Ex-Moderator | Well done, Dan!
I wish I could afford a personal trainer. And had time for one. At least my second job is fairly active, so that helps make up for it some... And once spring hits, I'll be back with my 4.5 mile walks arond the lake. I'm going back on my fairly strict diet once I get back from Karen's. I've only gained backed 10 of the 40 pounds I lost in 2005 and have maintained it steady ever since, but it's time for me to lose the next 40. |

I didn't even lose a cup size when I lost weight last time, so I'm guessing they're not going anywhere. oh - and it was 2006. whoops. I'm hoping to simply go down 2 more clothing sizes. I was a size 10 at my thinnest in high school (and I thought I was a fat monster, sad, eh?), but if I can maintain a 12 now I'd be happy. |
