So I guess the idea of eating pancakes (in the UK we do this anyway...) comes from the original tradition of trying to use up things like eggs before lent, during which they were not supposed to be consumed, am I correct in this?
If so, then why did people have all these left-over eggs they had to use in a hurry?! For me Shrove Tuesday is not about religion or indulgence or a time to give something up...it is a lesson in Stock Control.  This is not an exit | |
