Stroking my 15" Steely Hard....

Mac Book Pro!

OMG this thing is SO beautiful! Fuc* that Air thing with it's one usb port nonsense!! this is the real deal! 2.2ghz of Speed and Duo Core Chip Power! 4GB of RAM, 200 GB of storage...Like McDonalds, I'm loving it! Oh and you better believe I got the 3 yr bumper to bumper warrantee on it. No more of this breaking down after one year BS!

This is huge for me as it also marks my SWITCH from PC to Apple. Everytime I have gotten new Music software or there is a major upgade to the software I already use, I have needed to upgrade my machine to accomodate the need for more power. 2 Desktops and One Laptop so far. It was a hard decison as Macs cost a lot more than PCs do, but in the electronic music business you aren't taken seriously unless you have a Mac. Luckily I can install windows and not have too many worries with my PC Only software. PLUS now I can fully enjoy this software I bought last year, but have been unable to use because of computer restraints. Plus now I will have garage band, and even though it's pretty basic and low end, I'll be able to share music files with my music partner who has yet to get himself a MAC and Abelton live.

ANyhoo, blah blah ginger! I am so freeking excited and no more crazy blue screen of death!!!! No more upgrades to McAfee!!!!

I haven't even turned it on yet. Can't wait! I have to think of a name...Xerxes or Yorick or something like that.

Great ! Congrats ! excited

Just this :
BS ... If I can remember well, the original Mac didn't have 4GB of RAM and a 200GB HDD. Hardware evolves all the time, whether it is Mac or PC.
that's debatable ... I'm not in the electronic music business, but in any
business, you're taken seriously if you deliver quality. Whether you do it
on pots and pans or a Mac shouldn't make that much of a difference.
You'll still be using Windows as you say yourself ... make sure your music
partners don't notice it cuz your street cred is on the line !!!

I use Windows on a professional basis. Installing new tools and tinkering under
the hood every single day. I can honestly say I have never had a blue screen
in like 5 years ... I also don't use McAfee, Security shouldn't rely on the
tools you use to protect yourself, it's a day-2-day attitude and responsible use
of your environment.

TJust to make sure ... I am considering moving to Mac ... basing my choice on my needs and not silly arguments biggrin

I am not that great with working "under the hood" of computers. I am sure it something to do with a missing driver or something when I did my last re-install. For the most part my PC has held up pretty well. It's just working on music has become a chore and I can't use the software I spent so much money on.

I did all kinds of research and really nothing said one way or another which was better for music. I think some of it has to do with the mathematics under the software. Macs are also less glitchy and when you are live, less glitchy is key. My music partner, who has done no research has insisted that this is the way to go regardless of even power (he is a bit of a git).

That's exactly what I'm saying. You chose your Mac because it suited your needs.
All the other stuff is pure propaganda and chit-chat taken from Mao Zedong's Steve Job's speeches biggrin

I used both in Minneapolis... Dans new Mac book and Carries new PC.... I must say I sided with Carries at the end... I simply can't forgive the right mouse click function....

However, I wouldn't mind a written standing invitation to play with your new Mac and well you in the near future!

The right click is gonna get me. I hear you can get mice for the MAC that have multi function buttons.
