The Patriot's undefeated* season (updated! Now with MORE cheating!) Why isn't anyone asking how a team can be undefeated* when they were caught cheating in that same season?
Do you think the punishment would have been different if oh, say the Bengals had been caught cheating? [Edited 1/20/08 15:31pm] [Edited 2/2/08 16:39pm] Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

They were caught secretly videotaping the opposing team's signals during games. Basically it allowed them to counter the opposing team much more effectively as they knew what was coming. The coach was fined 500,000 and the team was fined 250,000. No suspensions or forfeiture of any games. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. Im just hoping Green Bay beats the Giants and than goes to the superbowl and beats the Patriots, i think it would be fitting to see Brett Favre beat New England. You guys just need to stop hatin' the Pats are undefeated because they are the best team period, and recording teams when they practice isn't being done anymore, they don't need to keep studying teams that are inferior to them.
Pats are going all the way this year

It's great for them. It's too late. They are AFC Champions. Spygate is over.

Tom Brady is a good QB (not great) on a team that has a good system...and that system was called into question with spygate...why NOT asterisk their season??? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

They were caught recording during the pre-season games, and since then have not done so during the entire season, so they haven't done anything during the season but win games solely because they played better. [Edited 1/20/08 16:20pm]

Just one thing about Football thats always annoyed me. Its such a rough and tough sport and all macho and shit, and all year they play in the elements of any weather. And than the biggest game of the year (superbowl) they play in a place where elements arent a factor, its always been such a stupid way to end a season. It should be like Baseball, they dont go to Florida and play the World Series on neutral ground, where the weather is warm etc. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Well, the Pats have been doing this for a while, but for about 4 years or so, they've been 10 points better than every team they've faced, with only a few exceptions. I'm no fan of New England but let's say they didn't got caught cheating until the Jets game, and then they were forced to stop after that game. They've reeled off 17 straight since, which hasn't been done in 35 years. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I agree. I just don't think you should be in the record books when you cheat. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

The Pats weren't caught, per se....they were dimed out by the NY Jets last season, and then were caught during the 1st game against the Jets this season....apparently the videotaping is something that is done by almost every team in the league AND has been going on for some time...so the Jets were portrayed in some circles as prison bitches instead of victims....
...as for the "*" on the Pats season, its a non-issue at this point...they got the punishment the league felt was sufficient (the fines and the loss of their #1 pick...which is also moot because they ended up with the Niner's pick @ #7 )...maybe Eli and the Giants will serve up the final justice... ya neva know.... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

I agree. I just don't think you should be in the record books when you cheat. I can understand that. But 1) maybe the G-Men pull off the Upset of the Decade; and 2) the Pats are not the greatest team of all time, IMHO. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

No other team has done this and if they pull it all off I think it will be along time before another one does. Disclaimer: I would feel the same way if it were a different team!!!

Disclaimer: I would feel the same way if it were a different team!!! Don't get me wrong, I think they're among the top 5. But not THE GREATEST. You can't judge a team based solely on their record. You have to look at other things, such as the talent on their roster AND the level of competition they faced. Many of the football teams I've seen over the last 25 years or more since I've followed the game are as good or better than these Patriots, although they are efficient and dominant and all that. The 1989-1990 49ers were likely the most explosive team I've seen on BOTH sides of the ball. Ditto the 1984-85 Niners, whose defensive backfield (four Pro Bowlers -- FOUR!) would be more than a match for the Pats (think Wes Welker would go over the middle if he knew Ronnie Lott was coming for him?). I think the 1993-94 Cowboys could have handled them and the 1986-87 Giants could have too (and I'm a Redskins fan!) And I'd give the 1985 Bears a shot as well. There are many great teams they might beat. My 1991-92 Redskins, for example, the Broncos teams of the 1990's, The Raiders teams, maybe a couple of the Steelers' teams, and the Dolphins' squads. Having a perfect record makes you among the very greatest. But THE greatest? I don't know. You've got more teams than in the past, and free agency is a big factor as well. The Pats could not have acquired some of the key guys they have now (Welker, Adalius Thomas) without free agency. That applies to other sports as well. The 1996 Bulls had the greatest season ever, but I'd take the 1987 Lakers or the 1986 Celtics over them. That's just one person's opinion. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

It is impossible to win 19 games in this free-agency, parity-driven era. And the Pats are going to do it. Absolutely a season for the books! Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
