Wait -- you'd probably like that... that cinnamon tea you were talking about in that tea thread (i think 'twas you) you should have some of that with a twist of lemon that should help your throat and if you like ginger, i'd suggest some candied ginger slices they just make you feel good all around pretty much and then curl up in bed with some incense burning and your fave album and a book [...i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...]

Man, if I could walk around outside without pants on and not have people look at me like I belong in the looney bin I would! surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water
I ain't felt this way in years...

I should eat those... Incense might aggravate my breathing tonight, methinks. But the book and music are on tap. As is crank-calling Rhonda in my Bond-villain rasp.

Yeah, I'm guessing incense wouldn't be a good bet tonight, but I frequently burn patchouli, vanilla and sandalwood... Just not tonight. I'm trying to finish "Blonde Faith" by Walter Mosley. And, I've been favoring Terence Blanchard (the dude who does the music for Spike's films) Quintet's Hurricane Katrina project. It really should have been nominated for a Grammy. It's phenomenal.

TB is a NO native, and his trumpet playing takes on an anguished character on some of the songs. He did the music for Spike's Katrina film, and has given incredibly poignant interviews with NPR about returning to his childhood home with his mom after the the floods. He was numb, caught between dealing with his own pain and trying to remain upbeat for his elderly mother (who was, naturally, overwhelmed). He says all he could manage to do was tell her, "Well, that can be fixed, Mom..." All that pain comes through in the gorgeous nuances of the quintet's playing, as well as in the breadth of their masterful compositions. Well, I'm off.

elaborate please! See my thread in P&R as well ... Imbolc, a Greater or Major Sabbat, is a holiday of purification and of the renewed fertility of the Earth. The Greater or Major Sabbats -- Samhain, Beltane, Imbolc and Lughnassad -- occur at the cross quarters, the midpoints between solstice and equinox. They mark the turning of the seasons and are considered to be very powerful days in and of themselves. Midpoints are considered to be times of great power because most things in Nature reach the peak of their strength when they are in the middle of their lives. Brigid - The Presiding Deity Whether you call her Brigid, Brigit, Bricta, Bride (pronounced "breed"), or by another of the many variations of her name, this Celtic goddess of fire, water, smithcraft and the hearth is the presiding deity of Imbolc. The many blessings that she bestows include healing, fertility, protection, warmth, wisdom, sustenance, inspiration and creativity. Imbolc is a wonderful time to call upon her for blessings. How to receive the Blessings of Brigid Brigid is known for, among other things, her kindness to animals. Spreading Imbolc Blessing Powder calls forth her blessings, and also provides winter food for birds and other small animals. On the morning of Imbolc (February 2nd) take your container of Imbolc Blessing Powder outside and sprinkle the powder around your home to attract blessings to yourself and your household. Start in the East. Some of the powder may also be left in a sea shell as an offering outside. You may also leave some of the powder outside in a bird feeder as an offering of food for all small animals and birds. Whistling is a traditional way to invoke Brigid, so whistling cheerfully as you toss the powder adds to its magic. . [Edited 2/2/08 15:57pm]
