But U cannot beat Raul Midon's "Adam'n'Eve'n'Eve" track at the end, the end credit music to Spike Lee's music usually comes up trumps and this is NO exception! 'dre Is that the song with the lyric "I love you... and you... and you"? If so, I thought that was a pretty witty track. [Edited 2/2/08 10:33am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Love Spike Lee films but I had no desire to see She Hate Me. I could tell from the previews it was going to be bad. 25th Hour was probably the first film of his I really disliked...lately his films haven't really been that great imo.

That scene alone made me glad I spent the $7.99 I did on the DVD "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

What's up with all the 25th Hour haters!?! It was a departure for Spike in many ways, but that movie was great! And the Terence Blanchard score is fantastic! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I'm going to buy it on DVD because whenever I ask for it for Christmas or whatever, no one ever buys it for me. I had rented it and was watching it at my mom's house once and she walked in during the middle of the movie, watched for about 5 minutes and then repeated declared how much the movie sucked. It was a very "shut up, mom!" moment.

I wasn't too big on 25th Hour myself, it wasn't bad at all but it just didn't move me But I loved the shit outta Summer of Sam I'm surprised. The "What if we ran away?" sequence at the end of 25th Hour just tore my butt apart. I don't think I actually cried (I couldn't go out like that in a crowd of people), but inside I was bawling! Summer of Sam was decent. I couldn't quite understand the point of Spike's having made it, except as an excuse to make a film about some screwed up Bronx white folk , but it was pretty good. Adrien Brody, John Leguizamo and Mira Sorvino carried the film very well. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I totally forgot about Summer of Sam! (Adrian Brody was great in that.) I liked it until the part where the dog started talking. I mean, I know David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) really thought the dog was telling him to kill people, but somehow Spike tried to make it too literal and it ended up looking ridiculous, imo.

"25th Hour" still had a lot of Lee's traits but it was just him maturing as a cinematographer cultivating in "Inside Man" - virtually a clean break for Spike, maybe Tarantino should try that one day after Death Proof. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Absolutely loved "25th Hour." And, I agree with Lamma about the "let's run away" scene. It was gripping.

IMO, that's still his biggest weakness. He tries to hit you over the head with so many viewpoints, and loses focus. Just tell the damn story Spike, we can figure out the rest. His strength is showing the true sides of people. 'Do the Right Thing' is a perfect example of this.

Hearing him talk about his approach to the craft was an awesome thing. And, I'm a bit of a film , too. I'm always struck by lighting, shot angles, color and wardrobe choices, even casting decisions.
