I cant remember how i found this place, probably some search machine, I spent yrs just reading the headlines on the homepage, didnt even know there was a community, although i had an account for yrs. I think the first post i ever made on the net was at the .org.

i used to read the prince "family" news site religiously (anyone remember that one?) and i checked out hammer's prince site now and then too, and i also lurked around on AMP quite a bit...i'm sure that i just clicked links and heard people talking and ended up on the org back in the black and purple daze. i didn't really post much until i'd say around 2000/2001-ish?

was on the PML then the PPML then came to the PPML chatroom in December 1996, which was really the start of "the org" as we know it, as far as an interactive community.

Several awful things that could happen in one's life happened to me all at once back in 2001/2002. I was in a SERIOUS funk and would have seized upon reasonably healthy community just about anywhere. One day I decided to look up a Prince fan community, and I found this joint. I liked the variety of non-Prince-related conversation here and the fact I could have lighthearted exchange with folk from all over the world. And I've stayed.

i liked prince. i type in prince. this website came up. i lurked around here for a month, laughing my ass of because of the humor ppl posted here. finally decided to signed up. i did as cherrycoke, but chicken out. then it took me a week, i signed up as weepingwall. then weepingwall went bye-bye, then i came back as baroque.

In Jan 2001 we got our first decent computer with internet service.

Knowing that Prince was on the internet I started looking for him (Not him specificially just sites )

I went to MTV and VH1, just to see what they had, not expecting much and not being disappointed, but found some nice pics.

VH1 linked to other Prince web sites. prince.org was a couple down on the list.

When I first got here the site was purple and black and every thread ended in atomic flame wars. Funny as hell, but a bit tiresome after a while.

Then this version was introduced and I wandered into the chat room. I just lurked for weeks and only spoke in PM for a long time. Serpan99 was one of the very first to talk to me regularly. ( Serge) He helped me figure out how chat worked.

After I'd been there a bit I ventured out into open chat...and haven't left.
