Love ...or Be Loved??? Which is better??
Would U rather find/be with someone U love to death or someone who loves U to death?? ...and don't say equally...

Well, one without the other would suck! I'll go with being loved. I'd have to love him just as much or else I wouldn't be with him...

..i'm sure the 'right' answer is to love...but there are few things more painful than to love someone and not be loved in return...i don't really know how beneficial that is either...

Neither
Seriously. To love and not be loved, is one of the loneliest feelings in the world. To be loved and not love, can make a person feel suffocated...

..yeh..but what if it was somebody that really got on your nerves? I know, that's the danger. It's never fun to have someone w/ those feelings about you & all you wanna do is deprogram them... BUT I'd rather create distance between myself & someone who's in love with me than to be sick over somebody who didn't love me back, that's too hard to live with...

I think that If you were in a long term relationship and it ends, you never stop loving that person.

Unrequited love is awful, it makes you sick and gives you feelings of helplessness. I would rather be loved than love and not be loved back. Sounds selfish, but I've been there on both counts, and being loved is far more preferable.

Hi Lleena! I think once you love somebody you never stop loving them, period. You can fall in & out of love, but you never stop loving them as a person (if you truly loved them at all, IMO). I still care about my ex's, bastards they are!

Actually I would rather love. There are several reasons for this. For starters I would hate to have someone love me and me not return the feelings. I wouldn't want someone to hurt because they expected something of me that I just couldn't give to them. Secondly, loving feels so good. Regardless of how they may feel about you or not feel about you, loving that person without the expectation of "you have to love me back" feels so good. It's such a joyous release. And yes I have loved others who have not loved me in return, or at least not in the way that I love/d them. I was open about my feelings, and upon discovering that they felt differently towards me, I was happy to love them and accept their friendship. Loving to me doesn't mean that just because I love them that I have to be with them. Sometimes loving someone is letting them be the person they are without putting those limitations on a person or on the relationship. And the third reason is that love is contagious. When you give it away it continues to grow and it comes back to you. Love is wondrous in my opinion, whether you are loved or not, but more especially when you do the loving.

I'll have this answer too Garcon. "...because no-one gets there alone." - "...I like the floor. It's the only thing that seems real."

I want to be loved from the one I do love. But I don't know if I could let me or been loved... [This message was edited Wed Oct 23 8:07:13 PDT 2002 by Arcamar]

Be loved. Surely there's no greater feeling in the world than knowing that someone genuinely wants to be with you.

I had a similar conversation with my mother last night. She asked if the guy I'm with now is the "one". I told her I didn't know because I've never been in love. He loves me to death, but I don't really feel the same way. So I guess my answer is I'd like to love, cuz I have no idea what it feels like!

kinda sad carrie. I hope you are in love someday..it's great! and I have to say either one would suck really...I mean what good is it to be loved if you don't love back, and what good is it to love with no love in return? a waist of time really. it's not impossible to have both...I've been with Adam for 14 years, and we still love each other "not a fan" yeah...ok

I would rather have both... but if I were to have to choose, it would be to love. I would rather love another and not have it returned, than to be loved and not be able to return the love back. That would be crushing.
At least with loving someone, you can experience all of the wonderful feelings of it, even if it isn't returned. You still have that.

Carrie... "love" is nearly an unspoken force, that literally consumes your every breath of existence, literally. (((beautiful sigh))) When you truly feel love and have love in return mutually (I feel it is rare to find), but if and when a person discover's this love freely with no effort, and it simply is, you are as complete as you possibly can be and life can be so beautiful in all "life" occurences that will exist and cease to exist. Love can be found, if a person seeks with an open, postive heart. Truly best wishes Carrie and a very beautiful day to you.

It must be Mutual really. But I do think I want the Special one to Love me. Yes,without that it is Fruitless.
