Ok...I have officially retired!

After finishing this last basketball season (just a beer league for men keeping it tight or whatever) my knees have issued me a message. "Yo...Dex....WE ARE FUCKING TIRED MAN"!!

I think I have got to give it up. It is time. I am forty two years old and have been playing basketball at a high level for over twenty years and thirty years TOTAL. My time has come. My knees tell me everyday that my personal "Swan Song" has commenced playing. I've had three surgeries on my right knee and my left is showing the same signs the right one did. Joints ache out of the fucking blue, it takes my feet a half hour to wake up after my body does! I've been stitched up, teeth knocked out, broken bones, etc.

I have been all over this country playing, met great people, made solid connections, speak two languages (somewhat), been to who knows how many countries world wide, laughed, cried, fought and gotten stupid drunk with so many good people around the world just because I can play a game that it is quite astonishing that this once skinny shy kid from Pittsburgh would have done so much with a game he just played because everybody else was.

So I am waving good bye to all potential suitors asking me to play on their teams. No more celebrity games for me. No more alumni games for me. No more competition is needed. It has given me all I can imagine and more!!

So?

WHO GOLFS HERE....LOL!!!

Yeah...I have...but we will see. I like my time and I'd rather watch!!
Being a teacher, I get my full dose of kids daily and giving instructions everyday is enough. When that whistle blows...I want BEER not a basketball!!

But I say that now....LOL

Man...I was a late bloomer in every aspect of my existence. I could not even TALK to girls my freshmen year of college. And I started out at a DIVISION 3 school playing ball. I began to lift weights with the football players and my physique just went BOOM!! And then came some latent basketball skills out of nowhere!! So that boosted all the confidence because I really no longer needed to talk to the girls...they were coming at me!

Basketball....same deal...I transferred up two divisions to D-1 and the rest is history!

Whapping began at PPML as my signature online flirty gesture!...to answer your question....LOL!!

Dex, before you call it quits...

I've played competitive volleyball all my life (high school, college, tournaments, etc.). I've also had knee surgery on both knees. I thought I was done about a year ago (I'm 39), and friends told me about glucosamine chondroitin. It's a supplement that will help your body regenerate soft tissue. After I took it for about 2 weeks, I was actually able to play again, and am back to playing twice per week. I've heard similar stories from friends, and one of teh guys I play volleyball with who is an Orthopedic surgeon told me that it's legit.

I'd at least give it a shot before quitting!

beer To basketball!!

My hubby did the same thing. He kept getting bone chip fractures in his ankles. His doctor finally asked him "Are you Michael Jordan? Are you getting paid millions to play?"

So he played for a few more years and then stopped.

Now he plays golf.

Ya'll should hook up giggle

Ditto with bowling. And even better - you don't have to chase the ball. It always comes back to you!

And also, the harder you swing a golf club, the worse your swing will be. But the harder you throw a bowling ball, KABOOM! (To a point.)

I love bowling.
