Permit me to answer sensibly. I've just got in and I've cleared my police check. To put you in the bigger picture, I now have all my documentation to send to Korea. This means I will be able to get out there quicker then I first thought.
It might have escaped your attention but after teaching in Korea for about a year or so, I plan to come back to Europe on the Trans Siberian Express passing through China, Mongolia and then into Russia. I still haven't been to the USA as of yet but I plan to before I hit my mid-thirties. The trip would take in Canada, then the USA and then heading down towards Central America. I've been writing poems (if you can call them that ) since I was 10 years old. I stopped writing about 10 years ago and recently started again. It gives me the possibility to express what I usually can't or won't because I'm too shy ... and I doubt myself every day (every hour would sound to pathetic). I always wonder whether I'm a good person, a good dad, a good husband, a good lover, a good friend.

I also pulled a local when I was in Salvador da Bahia in Brazil. I'd been out and got sooooo pissed and high that I ended up at some reggae concert. I was slow dancing with her and then we started snogging. We then got in the back of a taxi and ended up at this favela where she lived. We had to run quickly to get to her home as there was a gun toting favela guard on watch.
The next morning I woke up wondering where I was but I didn't feel scared. I was still in a bit of a daze I guess. Anyway, I found out her name was Celia and that she had invited me and my friends to an exclusive bloco party. Nice if risky work on my part! There's Joy In Expatriation. | |
