In your experience, do males say "I love you" to other males?

For some reason I was thinking about the movie Cloverfield this morning, and something struck me that completely escaped me before: The lead male character's brother told him twice that he loved him -- once in a recording meant for him; once directly to his face... and neither of these was in a crisis moment. I thought how unusual.

I quickly considered my own life, and I thought about the males who've actually said the words "I love you" to me: my father; maybe my grandfather (I was so young when he died, I don't recall); several of my gay friends; only one of my straight male friends; I don't think my uncle said it; and never my brother or males cousins shake. Is this typical?

In your experience, do males tell other males "I love you"?

Hehehe. Most guys go like 'ermmmm' when you tell them you love them, esp when the guy saying it is gay.

It's funny: Because I'm out to my straight friends -- men's men to the core -- I suspect they accept me as having a layer of "weirdness" anyway lol, and so I don't care if I make them uncomfortable by saying I love them. They're generally cool with it. Yet only one has ever said it to me.

My uncle says it to my brothers.
Before my grandfather died, he said it to his son and my brothers.
My friend tells his best friend he loves him.
And my brothers say it to each other everyday

I think that's great. That's the way it should be, IMHO. nod

Yeah i mean why not. If u feel that way, then hey.
I hate when men feel its too 'manly' to tell another male they love them.

Dont wait until its too late and then say "I wish I could've told him I loved him"

I've heard that before and its just sad.

To my brother and my partner. Biut not to my male friends (gay or straight)

Interesting you heard it in the Cloverfield movie. It was also done in the episode before the Season Finale of LOST and was a highlight of the episode.. LOST and Cloverfield are produced by the same company.
