The dolphins are not the only professional football team to have a perfect season. The 1948 Browns did too. Sure that was back when they were with the All American Football Conference but still they should not be forgotten.

They also mentioned the Bears back in the 40's or 50's.

Yeah as far as perfect regular seaons. 1934 and 1942. And it is funny that they were finaly beaten in the final game by the NY Giants in 34 and Washington in 42.

the 48 browns, however, were undefeated, untied, and won their championship. Two years later when they were absorbed into the NFL, the NFL refused to accept the AAFC's stats. It seems the NFL did not take them or their recored seriously. Then the Browns would not only beat the defending eglas in their first game but also win the championship that season.

The Pats' loss changes nothing IMHO.

The '72 Dolphins would get smoked by most of the winners (and in fact, several of the losers, including the '07 Pats) of the last 10 to 20 Super Bowls.

They can dream they were the best, but they weren't. Their feat will live on in history, but that's as far as it goes.

You must be a Browns fan. Well I can understand the NFL point of view, it's not an NFL record. The NFL must of taken the Browns seriously enough to bring them into the league. For the past 42 years the only thing that really counts is winning the superbowl in the NFL. Very few care if you won the AFL Championship or any other championship like USFL/CFL/WFL/XFL/NFL Europe.

It seems to me they were preserving the NFL brand.

Except they accepted the AFL's stats when they absorbed them. It may have had to do with the fact that not all the teams from the AAFC were selected and all of the AFL's were?

Either way, it is fun trivia to spring on a Miami fan.

I agree, but many of them are not satisfied with being unique. They want to be recognized as the best team ever. Especially Mercury Morris.

What other teams were in the AAFC????? What other teams made it to the NFL??? I know alot of Chargers fans and they are proud that their team won many AFL championships but would rather have a superbowl win instead.
