So if you get a new partner do you compare them to someone else?

Have you ever been in a relationship with someone, even if it's new and you're aren't completely satisfied because you are comparing them to someone else? How did effect or is effecting your relationship? Does that even make sense?!

I think it's only natural to make some comparisons, sure. But my comparisons are much less, "He is better/worse than so and so because of whatever" and more of learning what I want and don't want out of a relationship and partner.

I agree. I think in someways it's good to be picky but to what extent should one cut their losses so to speak? Afterall, nobody's perfect. Well apart from me. smile

I usually only do that if I'm unhappy in the relationship.

Well, I think you'll find it's a hard road to find any girlfriend that could even remotely measure up to me. I don't envy your future hunt for her.

No, not really.

I'm usually so into the person and caught up in the excitement of it being new that I don't think about past dudes at all.

No, now that I think of it, I seem to get involved with someone who is different, especially on a physical level. I'm sure there are similarities but I don't think about them or compare them. That's interesting how that works out. Each person is distinct, never a prototype. Kinda weird, really.
