2) A meal at a restaurant - ugh, i spent over $100 for a birthday dinner at a totally pretentious restaurant in chicago because the person i was seeing at the time just HAD to eat there on his birthday. this was the kind of place that had IV bags on the wall as DECORATION, and they bring you a plate of cotton candy when they bring you the check. what the hell kind of crack den gives you cotton candy with your damn check?!? anyway, i kissed $100 goodbye that night, and there were just two of us on the bill. if it was a good dinner, a nice place, or someone i were still seeing, i guess it might have been worth it. lol

Lord have mercy, Anx, a Crack Den? That is messed up!!

1) A piece of furniture- Hmmm hard to say...don't think I've bought one piece of furniture at a time

2) A meal at a restaurant- Over $200/US (For Hubby and I)

3) A jacket/coat- Around $200/US

4) A piece of art or print- $300/US

5) A pair of shoes- $65/US

6) A piece of jewelry- Over $5,000/US

7) A television- $3,500 (?)/US

What is most pathetic is that I don't know more exact numbers and I am guess-tamating in most of these cases.

1) A piece of furniture
I don't have any furniture. I'm a minimalist, Eastern Orthodox

2) A meal at a restaurant
$12.79. I know I know.... but I couldn't help it. It was the anniversary of my birthday.

3) A jacket/coat
I once traded my dog in for a really nice hip-length leather jacket with belt-strap.

4) A piece of art or print
-$4.06.

5) A pair of shoes
I once paid $15.00 for a shoe, but the other one was thrown in for free. So, I pretty much came out even.

6) A piece of jewelry
3 to 6 years.

7) A television
A garbage can. I threw into a storefront window the night that the lights went out in Georgia.

Girl, you better buy it now, because it's only going to go up in price. Several years ago (1999 or 2000) I fell in love with this painting by Seonna Hong but it was $500, which at the time, I felt was too much. Now her paintings sell for $3500+ (which I certainly can't afford) and there is a waiting list for them.

Plus if it's something you really love, who cares. All the art collectors I know buy stuff because it speaks to them---if it appreciates, added bonus, but to have a piece of art that you love and makes you happy is priceless.

What's the most you've ever spent on yourself on:

1) A piece of furniture

I suppose $600 for my bed, that was several years ago.

A meal at a restaurant

Hard to remember--probably $60-$70 maybe?

3) A jacket/coat

Probably about $250 or $300.

A piece of art or print

Not including framing--$100 for an original Seonna Hong print (since I missed out on my window of affordibility for her paintings. pout)

5) A pair of shoes

Probably about $220.

6) A piece of jewelry

I don't wear much jewelry, and most of what I have has been given to me, so I'm going with $40.

7) A television

$0. My television was given to me by a friend who no longer wanted it. smile

Very true nod I first fell in love w/ the piece years ago when I was a broke college student - it was $500 & I was like, "Bitch, please!!" falloff NOW?? I'd drop $500 in a heartbeat for that thing, I need to grab it before it reaches the $1000's sigh
