no shit! I was in the subway station one night( actually around 2am) and Im waiting on the train and theres this guy asleep on the bench beside mine. This guy comes up, cuts dudes pocket and makes off with his wallet. Was I all " stop ye bandit, your actions are unlawful?" Hell no! I just kinda looked at the guy like" what are you doing?' Then I realized that he still had the razor, so I started loking around like I was thinking about some other shit.

That's crazy! At which stop did this take place? I want to know which stations to avoid. I've never seen stuff like that happen.

That was back in the 70s. lol

Now there is only a 50% chance of those things happening. NYC is much safer now. nod

I sleep all the time on the subway and have missed my stop maybe five times total. People don't mess with me. They must think I'm homeless.

I take the 6 train to Parkchester(Bronx). I fall asleep all the time(work + gym knocks my ass out). So far no one's messed with me.

Man, I couldnt even tell you. I was visiting friends and was kinda lost. That train couldnt come fast enough, though. In all fairness, I've spent lots of time in the city, and that was the only "whoa" moment that Ive had.

Damn, a woman was raped on the NYC subway this week after she fell asleep twice.

Two women were raped by strangers in separate incidents in Brooklyn and Manhattan Wednesday morning, police said.

A 29-year-old dozed off around 4:30 a.m. after boarding the N train in Manhattan and awoke to find a man looming over her as the train idled in the Coney Island station, police said.

"How much?" he asked her.

After she told the gold-toothed man she was not a prostitute, he left.

The woman, who had slept through her stop, told police she then fell asleep again and was awakened by the man pinning her to the ground, raping her as he held a box cutter to her face.

During the attack, the train continued to its next stop and the man fled, cops said.

The victim was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell.

"It's just shocking to hear that," said Joyce Huang, 26, who rides the N line to Coney Island every day.

"Usually you feel very secure because there are so many police officers in this station."

At about 7 a.m., a New Jersey woman was attacked in the elevator of the Spanish Harlem building where she works as a baby-sitter, police said.

The 34-year-old victim took the 6 train to 103rd St. and walked about four blocks to the six-story apartment building where she worked.

It is unclear if her attacker followed her, but when she entered the building, he grabbed her, dragged her into the elevator and raped her, police said.

Neither suspect has been caught.
