the new cherry chocolate dr pepper nasty. but i miss the cherry vanilla so much i was willing to give this a shot.
in grade school someone gave me a chocolate scented eraser. it kind of reminds me of that. perfectly good cherry dr pepper with that sickly fake chocolate scent attached. at first i just smelled the cherry and drank a couple big gulps. but then there was that faint fake smell. oh well, i thought... i can deal with that if i get cherry dr pepper again. and if you burp it comes back on you a second time! i muddled through half a can and then tried to mix the remainder with some open pomegranate drink in the fridge. now i have something that tastes like cough syrup. oh yeah and there was this weird film on the top. perhaps it came from the glass or from the open drink i don't know. in order to check it out i would have to open another can of this stuff someone's head needs to roll at dr pepper. first that creme crap and now chocolate crap? just give me back diet cherry vanilla please!!

try using vanilla and cherry flavoured syrups (like the kind used for coffees - torani or monin are good brands for which to look and are usually easy to find), and mixing those into diet dr pepper. it may take a bit of experimenting and adjusting, but youll likely hit on an acceptable recreation of the original CVDrP.

I love Dr Pepper
you should just try it...Whats the worst that could happen? Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

i had to put the rest of the can down the drain but even the smell of the empty glass was offending me lol it wasn't even the vanilla i miss. i just didn't mind that mix. so perhaps i will just try cherry. oh and sammi

I just don't get the whole cherry Dr. Pepper thing. I mean...Dr. Pepper is already cherry-flavored. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

chocolate sodas do not work. and with a strong, distinct tasting soda like dr. pepper, why do they think it's a good idea to add a bunch of flavors on top of it???? this sounds nasty. i tried that berry creme bullshit they squonked out recently and it tasted like cherry nyquil. NAST.

now there was no reason for that. no excuse at all. it was swamp in a can. canfields has made a few different variations of chocolate sodas; i think ive encountered maybe one person - ever - who admitted to liking them. ive tasted the chocolate fudge version and then gagged. i have heard the chocolate sodas can be pretty good when used to make floats and other drinks.

oh i agree. chocolate as a flavour doesnt translate well to absolutely anything and everything. have you ever tried chocolate beer, or chocolate pasta or chocolate cheese?

oh i agree. chocolate as a flavour doesnt translate well to absolutely anything and everything. have you ever tried chocolate beer, or chocolate pasta or chocolate cheese? i've tried dark beers with traces of chocolate, and they're delicious. chocolate pasta? ummm, no. i've had cheese with sweets in the past (mainly the good ol' fruit'n'cheese combo), but i can't think of a time when i've had a chocolate/cheese combo.
