Lame Oscar-nominated film I'm glad I watched:
Across The Universe I liked hearing Evan Rachel Wood butcher classic Beatles songs so much that I bought the soundtrack today.

Was her attitude perceived as smart-ass? I thought her acceptance speech was refreshingly different. it seemed to me like she was goofing on george clooney all night - she was making bitchy comments about him on the red carpet, too. you could tell it was all in fun, but also that she has a biting sense of humor. i thought she was freakin' fierce. she's the main reason i wish i could have been at the prince oscar party.

It's bad. Not Sgt. Peppers bad, but I wouldn't watch it again. The opening scene was cool how it switched back and forth between the pop and garage versions of "Hold You Tight", but it was all downhill from there. I'm not sure why I bought the soundtrack. Maybe I'm thinking Evan Rachel Wood will jump out of my stereo and sing the songs in person.
