What the hell was on the floor that Colin and someone I can't remember kept slipping on? I kept waiting for somebody to bust it.
I liked the way Jon Stewart let Marketa Irglova (Best Original Song co-winner--"Falling Slowly") back on stage after a commercial break for a second chance to give an acceptance speech. She barely said "Thank you" before the orchestra cut her off. I hate when they do that, unless it's Kanye. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

He is such a hottie!!!!! We had a small Oscar party last night, his "acceptance" is one of the few things I actually watched! In fact, everybody there was quiet for him... I thought DD Lewis was really sweet, too.

I think everything ended up appropriately. Except I was surprised by Tilda Swinton's win and she starting out her speach with "Oh no" wasn't very good. I was kind of surprised that Diablo Cody won because, come on, how hard is it to write a cynical, sarcastic teenage story? I bet I could do it. And her speech wasn't even witty at all. Also, I'm glad they gave Marketa Irglova a second chance at her speech...that song is beautiful. And yeah for No Country, rightly so.
I think I'm getting old because I remember the Oscars being so boring because I didn't know anybody and last night I knew everybody. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

Before the nominations were announced, I had only seen: American Gangster Elizabeth: The Golden Age I'm Not There La Vie En Rose Sweeney Todd Since then, I've seen the following nominated films: Across The Universe Atonement Away From Her Beaufort The Bourne Ultimatum Charlie Wilson's War The Diving Bell And The Butterfly Eastern Promises Gone Baby Gone Into The Wild Juno Michael Clayton No Country For Old Men No End In Sight Once Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End Persepolis The Savages Sicko Surf's Up There Will Be Blood 3:10 To Yuma Transformers I'm gonna try and watch The Assassination of Jesse James, In The Valley of Elah and Ratatouille this weekend before the awards on Sunday night. Then I will sleep for a week straight. spelling [Edited 2/22/08 14:28pm] Last year I was a slacker in watching movies, so this year I have a goal of seeing at least 100... that's 8.33333 movies per month. Starting to slack again this month though. So you must have gotten over your fear of going to movie theaters alone? YES! I knew ahead of time I wasn't going to find anyone to see Diving Bell and Beaufort with me so I went alone for those and a few others. I sit near the front of the theater with the other single people. I saw the last three films I wanted to see this weekend as well as The Counterfeiters. I'm happy I decided to see that one at the last minute since it won for best foreign film. Best documentary Taxi To The Dark Side slipped through the cracks so I hope it stays in theaters a few weeks longer so I can see that one too. I'll comment about the rest of the winners later. I'm only a movie fiend in January and February.

They are saying this is the lowest viewed Oscars ever. What did they expect considering most people have not seen the nominated films. None of the films were showing anywhere near me.

Daniel Day Lewis still would've won in a blink though seriously, Hal Holbrook made it to the supporting actors category for the same film, so they couldn't have NOT notice Emile. esp. comparing his role to Clooney's.

Yeah, her dress looks like a potato sack. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

I thought Jennifer Garner looked stunning considering she usually looks so frumpy. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

Wait a minute...did she accomplish that? America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

The oversaturation about her in the news there lately is just too much to take. Or maybe I'm just bitter that she's more sucessful than I'll ever be. It's still a bad outfit though imo. On the other hand, I do hate it when stars can't think for themselves anymore about what to wear/how to look because they all have stylists to do that for them. It looks she she came up with this look all on her own. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven
