The only thing I don't like about them being so long is that the longer they are, the heavier they are, the FLATTER they are (i.e. body & fullness). All that weight just pulls them down so I rarely have any fullness on the TOP of my head, but the surrounding parts are full. But I wear mine up so much I guess it doesn't matter. I love my locs to death  Amen to all of that!! Mine are shoulder length and some are mid back and they are heavy when wet. I'm big on braiding them, knotting them and rockin' the wavy look. I love my locs to death yeah i've heard of the mildew risk but i always have my hair airing out in the open unless i'm outside (especially in this cold!)i think i'll miss the fullness ontop but my locs have already shrunk (i guess it happens after they finally start to form properly) and they're still full and voluminous
