The first time I saw Napoleon Dynamite, I didn't like it. Couldn't figure out how people thought it was so hilarious - I just thought it was dumb.

But, oddly enough, Napoleon Dynamite seems to be one of those movies you have to see more than once to appreciate. One of my friends (who had recommended it) told me to watch it again...and she was right. I laughed a lot at it the second time - mainly because I just went with it and didn't try to figure it out.

That's the beauty of the movie. You're not supposed to go in and try to analyze it and figure it out. It's the absolute randomness of it that makes it so hilarious lol

And that was exactly my problem. I got so caught up in trying to figure out what year it was and where they lived and all that, that the whole silliness of it blew past me. lol

Catwoman!! Halle Berry owes me $9.00 and 104 minutes of her time!! mad

as much as I love Halle, I agree.....Catwoman is one of those flicks thats so stupid that you can't stop watching...you're sitting there hoping against hope that it just HAS to get better....that it CAN'T be THAT bad!!!.....

...and when the credits roll, you know that you've just been had....nod

nod I love Halle too and I swear, I literally walked out of the theater imitating this guy:

"Worst movie ever!"

See, there are very few movies I actually go see these days...I pick my movies very carefully. What's strange is there are many movies I want to see, but when the movie rolls around it gets so-so reviews. I also try not to go and see movies over 3 hrs long.

Tonight is Cloverfield for me. I know exactly what I am getting into and the short length doesn't really bother me.

The only good thing I can say about Titanic is that I saw it on a rainy day in Arizona when I was there for a week visiting my parents. It was three hours that I didn't have to spend thinking of something to talk to them about. lol

The movie for me is only good between the iceberg hitting the ship and Jack slipping into the water. I can't watch the other parts.

The Matrix (the most overrated sci-fi movie ever made and has been woefully misintrepreted by the ubergeeks as being somehow profound. Read "Neuromancer" or anything by Philip Dick if you want some REAL sci-fi).

Gladiator

Batman & Robin (but EVERYONE wanted their money back)

The Last Kiss

The Return of the King (I'm with Randal Graves on this one — "There's only one return and it ain't "of the king" it's "of the Jedi.")

technically- tolkien had "return" way b4 lucas geek
title- not movie that is

as 4 the two movies....harrison ford....orlando bloom/ viggo mortesen hmmm LOTR wins out in the drool stakes

as 4 the movies.... SW eps I II and III have wrecked the original trilogy 4 me doody

but all those little ewoks r sooo cute...and R2D2 rocks woot!

The crazy thing is that when I was in GA for my advanced professional development course, the nite club I used to go to would stage an "Eyes Wide Shut" event every three months...there are people who absolutely LOVE this movie.....

The Golden Compass

Minority Report... I did get my money back.
America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

I'm gonna have to defend Mulholland Drive because it was the only Lynch film I've seen that made any sense. First half = fantasy. Second half = reality. It was sad to see what Naomi Watts character had hoped moving to Hollywood would be like and what it actually turned out to be.
