The Trans-Siberian Express

I can't imagine this will get many replies but I was wondering if anybody had travelled on the Trans-Siberian Express? It's something I plan to do once I have finished my teaching contract in Korea. My plan is to go from Beijing through China and on to Mongolia then into Russia finishing in Moscow. Does anybody recommend any other routes? Is it worth going on to St Petersburg?

Thanks.

I would love to!

I read a book about a wealthy family travelling from China to England on the trans-siberian express.. it was set in the early 1900s and was an amazing read...

When do you plan to go? Do you have a date set at all?
