$2k for a laptop? No way. Another Apple "oooh look it's pretty" product with negligible features.
Can't have a computer with only one USB port and no ethernet. It would be cool if they released one with only solid-state memory. I can probably live without a DVD drive. Maybe they don't want me to watch my own movies anymore and I have to buy or rent them from iTunes. Lame. Kinda strange, kinda awesome.

For businessmen, journalists, etc. alert I remember a few weeks ago when I was in a meeting about an Active Directory migration and the freelance consultant that represented the customer had a Mac in front of him ... he never touched it, neither had he ANY document about the project on that machine (he had written ALL the project documents)... it was 'dress to impress', I totally crushed him, sorry for that. I hate that. If you're gonna have a mac, use it.

You hate macs? Why in the world would you hate a type of computer? can I answer ? no ? bah, I will anyway ... Mac represents everythin people 'hate' about Microsoft, eyecandy above functionality, marketing above all and everything people tell about them are not lies per se, but at least they are not the complete truth. Macs aren't more secure, Macs aren't more user-friendly in and off themselves. They are a good alternative if they suit your needs. Configuring and using a Mac efficiently and securely requires the same or higher level as a PC. I don't 'hate' the Mac as it is, I detest the Mac-fanboys that don't look further than their backlit keyboard. Again, this is a beautiful machine that WILL take it's place in the market, but there are, probably cheaper, alternatives that would perform with the same reliability as this machine. It's not a matter of brand, it's a matter of choice.

Apple are leading the way again, this is the future - all wireless. They still do the Macbook and MB Pro if you need all the excess crap _ Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

It's not a matter of brand, it's a matter of choice. Um, I chose my mac because of functionality. There are applications that I use that are only made for Macs. Plus I like the fact that my OS is a Unix OS. The fact that the overall design is better than what I can find on a PC is just icing on the cake. But regardless, I don't understand the hate. I mean, if the machine isn't for you, fine but to get angry and defensive over someone's choice of computer says a lot more about you than it does about the person why buys a mac.

You hate macs? Why in the world would you hate a type of computer? its not the computer, its the marketting and the hype style over substance, that kind of thing, macs are good but not as good as macophiles would have you believe. they suffer from the same problems as pc's, but cost more and cost even more to upgrade. they look good, but its not always about looks.. for the record i hate them too.. typo edit [Edited 1/16/08 10:41am] are you ready for submission

umm...let me get this straight -
No CD-Rom An 80 GB 4800 RPM Hard Drive No FW Only one USB No replaceable battery, unless taking it to the lab No future upgrades And you're drooling over it? Yeah, it looks fine, but there are cheaper things that look good and don't do much, just like this seems to be doing. My tablet PC does more than that, and it cost me only a third of that price.
