HiinEnkelte said: Minneapolis is more literate than Boston!?? Please! And St. friggin' Louis!?!? It was rated the second most-dangerous U.S. city in 2007. What, are they robbing folk for tuition money and library books? [Edited 1/17/08 23:14pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

It said right up front what it was based on. Where do you live? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

People, you must read. The study only looked at the 69 biggest cities in the US - all of which have a population over 250,000. If you city doesn't meet that criterion, it wasn't even considered.
I live in one of the most literate and wired cities in America (Madison, WI). But our population is only around 210,000 - so I didn't expect to see us listed. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
