I had this amazing squash soup in my cafeteria at work last week and I am frantically checking their menu every day to see when they will have it again. It was HEAVENLY.
In general, I'm, picky about soups. Cream and cheesy soups are usually too heavy for me and being that I'm mostly veggie now, most broth-y soups are made with some kind of animal stock.
I do make a very nice, simple veggie broth with tofu and green onions that is quite simple and elegant and if you add a nice crusty bread warm from the oven it makes a lovely lunch on chilly day.
And there's a cauliflower soup a friend of mine makes that is very, very yummy.

Broccoli Cheese is my favorite. I also like Chili.
