Sometimes I do. The backstories can be heart-tugging. But NOTHING was like last night's second episode.

There is a young girl in Colorado that has the weirdest condition. She cannot feel pain, nor can her body tell when it gets too hot or cold. If her body temperature rises above a certain point, it will keep rising until she dies. There's no way to stop it. Consequently, she has to live in 62-degree temperatures at all times, and she wears a special cooling vest.

Her family lost their home to foreclosure. Medical costs for the girl are $500K per year. I have no idea how they pay them.

If anyone ever needed a lift, these people did. I cannot imagine what it's like in their situation. Wow, do they have it tough.

Me and another always laugh cause we say we'd be through by the second hug, with all the hugging after every damn thing.

I saw it last night too. I always cry at the end, for every family.

I usually don't but found myself in a heap on the couch last night in front of the boob tube and this show was on so I watched it. Then I did about an hours research/reading on the medical condition - The human body is so interesting

I love and hate that show at the same time. Probably cuz it makes me feel that I'm having it to good and I'm not doing enough to support people that DO need help.

I usually see the last 2 minutes as it tapes before Desparate Housewives. Even in that 2 min I am always on the verge of tears...so I can't watch it.

I always feel some of that too..then I usually cry when I see the ppl that have families and kids as well. I used to watch it when I lived alone with no family around.
It does make you appreciate what you have. I guess there is a lesson in it.

I've only seen the show once but here's my question once they make over the house, doesn't the property value go up? Along with the insurance? If they had a hard time making ends meet and other challenges before the make over, how in the hell are they going to afford the house now?

On some of the shows the home builder raises extra money from the community so it pays off their mortgage. Then they can pay for insurance and electric. Some times they also build a more energy efficient home so it saves them on electric bills as well.

I don't really like the show, maybe it's too sweet, maybe it's too much of an emotional investment.

But I think it's the absolute best thing a television show could be doing.

It's like a charity that's funded by it's own popularity. More shows should adopt this concept.

I remember those reports also, and if they were able to work all that out then great. Because some of those make over’s with the play room…cafeteria equipped kitchen and things in it now but they couldn't afford the house that jack built before. I'd hate so see the people lose their new homes because they really can't afford to pay the taxes on it.
