REALLY!?!? I've totally learned something here. I know the history behind it, but I thought chitterlings -- at least in the U.S. -- were almost exclusively an African American thing anymore. Do many Latino families eat this stuff?

Luke, where are you shopping or eating? Have you been to Trader Joe's yet? It may a be a little difficult but eating cheaply and healthy in Chicago is possible.

I have never lived anywhere near a Trader Joe's pout
I feel I am missing out... mad

Trader Joe's is okay. Just okay. A lot of what they sell is pre-packaged foods. Granted, it's of better quality than...say...Lean Cuisine. But it's still pre-packaged food.

Yes I use cinnamon when I do not have any allspice. In the fall/winter I use allspice in the summer I like cinnamon.
Yum!

cinnamon is one of the spices in allspice right? lol

No, it isn't. Allspice is its own thing. You can get whole allspice (also known as allspice berries) or ground allspice.

It is not all spice - as in a combination of spices. cool

You are correct. Back home in the states I used to buy pumpkin pie spice that was a mixture with cinnamon in it.

No!

These ppl are crazy.

They have no REAL bread!!!!

Define bread with grains....I eat it all time (or at least I think I am) It's brown and has what looks like oats on top.
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

We have that all over, you just need to know where to look.

It's hard to give advice for those of us who aren't in Chicago...
