I've totally grown out my hair for like 2 1/2 now and my hair is now really shaggy and I'm actually capable of tying it in a ponytail. I refused to cut it for this long cause this lady at my work helps collect hair for locks for life, which gives wigs to cancer patients. Her sister is an awesome hair stylist and will hook up any style I want at a dirt cheap rate cause I am donating my locks. I am going to go under the scissors this weekend. Tell me what shall I do with my follicles?

My friend and I just did this and there was an article in the NY Times about how Locks Of Love ends up throwing away most of the hair b/c they don't have enough staff to process all the donations. But the hair/ponytail has to be at least 8 inches in length to donate to Pantene...

My ponytail was almost 13 inches when I got it cut! Too bad the dude who cut my hair almost fucked it up and I barely ended up with a 9 inch ponytail. I was so pissed---he jacked up my haircut, too, which I had to get fixed somewhere else. That I could deal with, but I would have been really upset if after all that I couldn't even donate the hair.
