they don't know who they are dealing with then.
did you tell them you have a cane made of candy?
and that you will thwack them over their surly heads with it? biggrin

well, toots, as baffling a notion as it is to contemplate given my sparkling personality and carefully selected, stylish accessories, there are some who remain unimpressed by this Wonka. not even a cane full of chocolates has the power to move them, no matter in which way it is offered or threatened to be utilized.

to my p.o., i am but yet one more weirdo customer at their mercy. just, in a top hat.

of what does electro-therapy consist, and what does it do exactly?

They put these pads on that are connected to this machine that sends little electrical currents through the injured area. It improves circulation and massages tissue.[/quote]

thank you, i appreciate the explanation. ive only so far been instructed to do a couple exercises at home; next week i will be told if my fracture remained stable enough to begin therapy with an actual therapist, and it is helpful to me to know beforehand what possible techniques might be used.

thanks again.

Although I haven't had to go through physical therapy as such, I broke my arm at a difficult period in my life. My parents were going through a separation and I was starting the beginning of puberty so to go through this experience wasn't pleasant.

All I can say is that you will get through it eventually even if present circumstances aren't so great.

those are indeed especially difficult circumstances in which to also cope with a broken bone.

thank you for the words of support and reassurance. rose

You're welcome! smile

I had another session today. It went well but they really worked me. My therapist added 3 new exercises that were a pain in the butt! (Pun intended! giggle)

i wanted to again offer a sincere thank-you to everyone who has posted and related their experiences with broken bones and/or physical therapy, and has given so much kindness.

id debated openly discussing my injury, but i am now glad i did. everyones encouragement and warmth has helped lift my spirits. that you each took the time to write what you did is a gift greatly appreciated by me.

my outlook today is rather gloomy. your words comfort.

thank you. rose

Hope you're feeling a bit more cheery today. You always have a kind word for everyone, I don't think I've ever seen a cross post from you; a true gentleman.

Have a great weekend and keep us all posted with your progress.

hug
