I'm in the process of applying to university. I do have a plan of what I want to be, a chemist. Tell me a back up plan if this doesn't end up well! Also, tell me what you do for a living or what you went through to be in school.

I realized that long-time "interest" I had in social justice and things theological wasn't just an interest. It's what I'm here to do! And so I've returned to school to pursue that calling, with hopes to marry that passion with talents I developed in my earlier professional life through teaching, scholarly research/writing, ecumenical/interfaith dialogue, advocacy, etc. And it feels like I've finally arrived home!

i didn't study hard enough in university and
didn't get help when i needed it. i wanted
to be a chemist too. my advice is to sample
a few programs through your electives to see
if anything catches your fancy. and be prepared
to work like the devil and get a tutor if needed!

If you decide to go into chemistry, you have lots of choices. Given the hobbies listed in your profile, I'm immediately thinking of some meeting point between pharmaceutics and sports medicine. Or nutrition perhaps. Also, here in Canada, there's a great drive for geological research, environmental surveying... or you could always become a drug dealer.

17's a cool place to be! Do some soul searching, and you could make something really cool for yourself.
