....at least you didn't try to disintegrate a fork in the disposal like someone I know... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

The bad news... I need to buy a plunger and hope it unclogs my kitchen sink.... Durnit. Ive done that twice. Both times after I just moved into a new home. You would think I would have learned that the first time.

My son got a couple D-halls in school this week, so he's been sentenced to doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen for awhile. Tonight is Night #1 and as I speak, he's cleaning.
I had to leave the house. Cleaning the kitchen has always been my thing, and I need to let him do it his way so that he can learn. Then, we can both go back to watching Monster Jam shows on Speed Network.

The bad news... I need to buy a plunger and hope it unclogs my kitchen sink.... Durnit. Ive let them slide in for over 20 years... perhaps its something else or have I always been lucky? Try feeling around in there if it might be something else... also is it turning on or jamming? A broom stick pushing down on the plate will likely unjam it and or there are 2 nob like things on the floor disk inside... try moving them back and forth a bit with your fingers ( curled of course) I am a contractors daughter... I know these things! There is also likely a reset button at the bottom backside of it physically ( under the sink.. you may need to reset it... If I we rent on my deathbed Id call... perhaps tomorrow we are due for a catch up!

This time, I broiled them, which got them nice, crispy with burn edges on a few (the way I like 'em). All in olive oil, nutmeg and cinnamon. Alas, it's too late to eat them now.

Nothing like traveling to Wal-Mart on a Friday night.
This bad boy did the trick, though, in about 2 minutes. Of course the trip to Wal-Mart was not without incident: A slightly drunk, older couple behind me kept things interesting. The dude walked past me, saying: "This guy's on the phone, so I'll just get in front of him..." Then, spying the plunger on the conveyor belt when we were in line, he asks me: "How much was that?" "About four bucks," I reply. He lays a handsaw on the belt behind it. "Good, it was cheap. You can pay for that saw, then, too..." Then, this girl in front of me says to him: Öh, he´s paying for stuff?" "Yeah," the dude says, "he is." "What is this??? I ask, gesturing at the old dude and the girl. "Wait -- is this the crack line?" They laugh. But, dude did seem pretty... Late-night Friday Wal-Mart... and such.

What´s this thing with the garbage disposals in sinks in the USA ? I mean, where does that stuff go, and why don´t you just throw that stuff in the bin, which would be much better for the ecology ? I was pretty scared of those things when I was in America. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

There, there: The mean, loud monster in the sink won't hurt you. And the stuff goes where all discarded plastic in America goes -- "away."

apparently one should use cold water when running your disposal
keeps things like peelings firm enough where as hot water makes them limp and easier to get jammed up. looking online for a worm composting bin for thready...

That happened to me with artichoke cuttings, the plunger didn't work, and I have heard since that you shouldn't use one on your sink for some reason.
The fix was to remove the U shaped part at the bottom of the drain. The connector for the two sides of the sink was clogged (not the garbage disposal, as it had seemed), and it was easy to fix, even for a non plumber. oh, nevermind I see the plunger did fix it for you [Edited 1/12/08 17:40pm] My Legacy
