I loved "the wayans bros" tv show though, but their movies (with Keenan directing) are crappy. Stick to tv, or in marlons case, go do something deeper as he can act. Damon had "my wife and kids", that was a cool show (particually as it was family friendly), but since then?  You're forgetting that Damon can't act worth a damn  Plus his voice is super annoying. He was always better @ standup than @ acting...I thought he was quite good in "bamboozled", but yeah your right, comparing him to Will Smith is unfair, as Will can act. but Damon held his own in "last boy scout". Damon or Martin Lawrence? Martin is hella funny sometimes, but also, hella irritating. "black knight" anyone? | |

I think overall they are a hilarious family. Reminds me of the kinda stupid shit my brothers and I would do/say when we were kids. Damon reminds me very, very much of my New Yorker cousin.
I've never seen White chicks but I have seen a couple of Marlon movies that were stupid funny - like Senseless. One of my favorite lines ever is in Mo' Money. "What does a man with a 1 inch penis have for breakfast?" "This morning I had baby food and therapy...lot's of it." My bros and I used to watch I'm Gonna Git You Sucka over and over. I also really liked Blankman. "Right now, J5 is gingerly making his way down the stairs". | |

Damon isn't very funny to me-- atleast not outside of a skit. Shawn isn't usually trying to be funny. You notice he always plays the straight man when teamed up with Marlon. Marlon, on the other hand is naturally goofy so he can be funny but usually not in an intelligent way-- same thing for Kim from what I can tell. Keenan is/was pretty funny and since he's the brains of the family, or so it seems, he gets props for that.
All in all, like most low-brow comedy their products are hit and miss. For every Scary Movie, I'm Gonna Git U Sucka, and Don't Be a Menace you're bound to get a White Chicks. For some folks it's all the same but there is such thing as an entertaining bad movie.... and for the record I like the Wayans' work. | |
