"Drifting" in a car?

What does it mean when someone says you can really drift in this car? I have an older model Toyota Celica and in the drive through the guy at the window started raving Oh man, is this a celica? I used to have one. and leering as if he was talking about his most recent sexual exploit he said "you can really drift in this car". I just laughed and nodded and agreed. But I have no idea what he meant lol

Anyone?

It's a way of turning corners - you drift round them using the handbrake as your brake. Without careful handling the car spins, but if you get it right you can nail corners at high speed and accelerate away very quickly.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think the handbrake is involved in drifting. It's rather balancing around the point where your car breaks and then countersteer.

Believe me, I drive like a grandma. Don't want anything to do with the cops, higher insurance rates or the hospital wink

depending on the car all you need to do is brake just before you take the corner and then hit down on the accelerator and you should start going sideways razz just hope you have good reflexes and are good at keeping you cool cool

the few times it happen to me I felt major panic at first then I was thinking, damn I'm drifting... this is so cool.

And, I wasn't going THAT fast, it was the corner. it was sharper than I thought, yes every time (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

I like once he's sat there, wondering how to get the car turned around. You can almost taste the embarrassment he's feeling. evillol

lol damn man why the hell would you even try drifting in a barbie car, he deserved that razz

But yeah i never drift intentionally....at least not until i get new tires for my car hehe i nearly crashed my car the other week, it was raining and the corner i was turning on is a real bad one and i under estimated how bad the road at that corner really is and i spun out hehe and went up the gutter lol when i look back at it i was lucky not to take out a street sign or go head on into a tree lol
