the things we do for fashion So I'm on my way to a wedding. Looking forward to all of it.
But I got a new dress for it and it requires a strapless bra and I couldn't find my normal bustier I wear in such occasions and to make a long story short, I'm strapped into a corset so tight I can barely freaking BREATHE!! I don't know how women of the past wore these every single day, I'm actually worried about getting through the next 10 hours. But the good news is, I look effing HOT! What's the most uncomfortable thing you've done in the name of fashion? |

Shoes...they're my weakness. I love them. Most of them unfortunately are not comfortable. They're made for making your feet look pretty. NOT for providing comfort. My wedding dress weighed a ton and had a ridiculously long train. Just getting into it required the help of several people. I was always making sure that whenever I turned I didn't injure someone with the swooshing of the train. It had a million little buttons all down the back and it was tight. So, that was a day that I really suffered to look pretty. And now look. I'm getting a divorce. All that beautification for nothing. If I get married again it will be simplistic all the way....

Probably shoes, I'm really into heels lately despite the fact that I don't wear them enough to truly get used to walking in them Brazilian waxes aren't cozy, but that's not really fashion fashion. More like body fashion I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it

I'm currently wearing a mullet because my stylist thinks it's makes me look more fashionably Euro-centric chic.

Shoes/boots. Some of them hurt like hell but they look amazing so I'll never give them up. I don't wear anything lower than a 3 1/2" heel - except for kicking around shoes. Most of my shoes/boots are 4" high.

High heels have probably caused me the most pain but I don't wear them on the regular. Once I also made a strapless bra out of packing tape because I didn't have one that went with the outfit I was wearing at the time.

Once, around the age of 16, was forced to wear a pink shirt with white pants and a white bowtie -- all for a junior ushers anniversary function. Those junior ushers' senior advisers were ruthless, man... Couldn't be satisfied with basic usher black. Those old ladies had to get "an anniversary uniform."

Just like just about everyone on this thread, I'm going to go with high heels. I like looking a bit taller since I'm so petite

That wasn't of your own volition so I don't think that counts. I don't think that most men (Prince excluded) do very uncomfortable things for fashion. In fact it seems like designers know that the only way a man will even consider looking good is if his outfit is comfortable. Although I did know this one guy who used to wear those nylon socks that make your fet smell because he thought they looked good. I was like, "But they make your feet smell!" and he said, "Yeah, but they look real good with my shoes"

Most of my pain isn't fashion related, it's a sacrifice to the theatre gods.
I just finished a run of A Christmas Carol in which I wore a very tight corset, a heavy petticoat, a full wig, and a fully lined wool dress for 11 performances in two weeks - all while dancing and singing. It was hell...and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

i'm not seen in public in anything less than a 6inch heel. i've done entire parades in 9inch ones. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

SHOES! Definitely shoes...
I wear heels just about every day, and go to the podiatrist once a month! I'm so bad I wear the big, ugly flat shoes into his office, then change in the car after my appt.! "Love Hurts. I pretty much go once a month & no, it never gets easier I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it
