Canada was the first place I experienced this and in the county where we were they had Sunday black outs... which was entirely silly as we all just hopped counties and brought it in..... I was seeking wine for a nice dinner I was going to and couldn't find the wine isle... stopped a clerk and asked and they looked at me like I was nuts and said firmly we don't sell that here... In the US we can get it everywhere including Target and Walmart. we can get it at our supermarkets at their inhouse bottle-shops. Although Aldi has liquor just next to the check-outs. Our Targets and K-Marts don't have groceries.

In New York, only certain stores have liquor licenses and there are weird rules about who can sell what. For instance, we can't get 2-buck chuck here (Trader Joe's famously cheap wine), and none of the Targets or Wal-Marts that I've been to sell liquor (not even beer). My dear old grandmother's home remedy for getting rid of a dry, raspy cough...a couple shots of tequila, with lemon juice squeezed into it. Sounds good to me, I'll let you know how it turned out.
adios. well, I still have my cough...but I feel much happier about it though
