Two things which I find to be utter nonsense

1. If you gave 1,000 monkeys typewriters, they would eventually write all of Shakespeare's works. No, they would not. EVER. Whoever thought this up was high.

2. Computer "resellers". Who thought up the stupid term "reseller"? The same fried egg that thought up the monkey thing? "Reseller" makes me think I'm buying a used computer. Not using "reseller" is why Dell is so successful, IMHO.

I think the actual expression reads:

"if an infinite number of monkeys sat at an infinite number of typewriters, the smell in the room would be unbearable."

But they might write it eventually "kjhskjhfkwhereforejbkjbkbartnnasasoiiothoukkjhsnndncsnRomeo?"

I think that the answer is yes, in that somehow someway they would strike the right keys to write any and every word Shakespear ever wrote, even by accident. But it would only be one accidental word at a time and in no particular order and if you went through the myriads of babble over the course of the entire lifespan of all the monkeys you'd be able to put together the manuscripts smile

Not much is really known about William Shakespeare. How do you know this wasn't in fact the pseudonym of an infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of typewriters?
