due to the unfortunate timing of this situation, my holiday was rather dismal as my plans to go home and spend time w/family were completely ruined. it had been extremely important to me this year that i go home for christmas since a very close family member has had serious health issues and the concern lurks in the back of my mind that by next year this family member's health may have declined further and a holiday together might not be feasible. living life one-armed and w/o use of my dominant hand these past 4 weeks and in such pain has certainly been stressful as well as frustrating and exhausting, and this accident has disrupted and impacted my life in a greater multitude of ways than i currently have the energy to one-handedly type out. i can honestly say this experience is by far the worst thing to have ever happened to me and its overwhelming and wearying to consider that it's far from over and there still remains so much more to get through. on the other hand, ive definitely come to appreciate the blessing of the gift of two strong and healthy arms and hands, as well as having formed an immense respect and for those people who have adapted to life with the use of only one arm/hand. [Edited 1/5/08 11:26am] Learn from the fuckup i made when i did exactly that to my humerus .....whatever you do do not cut your cast off so you can go snowboarding and then fall off a rail and bust the other one OK? And thanks for the congrats...wishing you a fast recovery and no other injuries No worries..I think WW has common sense... sorry, that was too easy

Its easy to get lost in the moment and very difficult to imagine a time where it wont be the case down the line. Chin up my sweet friend! My heart goes to you... thank you, sweet miss muse. i am sorry that your son went through such a terrible ordeal, but am very glad that hes recovered and has no lasting effects. that brave boy. up until now, i'd been fortunate and never had a broken bone, and didnt know such pain was possible. i truly thought i was going to die the night in the er while the needed series of xrays was being taken and my arm had to be moved around. dear lord, i cant begin to imagine having things rebroken and reset. was your son given anesthesia for that, i hope? thank you again for the encouraging words. youre absolutely right about how easy it is to lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel and think the pain and inconvenience will never cease. i hope all your stresses ease sson, as well. bless you.

OK? And thanks for the congrats...wishing you a fast recovery and no other injuries you did that??? thats terrible! good gravy, im a month into healing and the pain is still so intense that im scarcely able to do normal tasks, let alone even contemplate doing anything like snowboarding. you must be a quick healer as well as having a high pain tolerance. did you go back to the same doctor to set your second break? thank you for the good wishes, and again - congrats on your and shanti's happy news. youre a lucky man indeed. (and should you ever injure yourself in the future, youll certainly have the sweetest personal nurse anyone could ask for.)

Yeah i waited 4 weeks after the break and my mom who is a radiographer ( i should have known better) went mental at me after i used some piri piri shears to cut it off, then it was hey ho and off to the snow park 4 days later and whamo...back in plaster with a busted scaphoid and cracked ulna. The doc was not impressed when i ended up seeing him in the ER again this time with the other one done. Ya live a learn.

Going to go for a 10 mile run, then hit the bookstore for a good history book to read, as that always cheers me up! (I have books in storage I could read, but would have to spend all day, digging around to find) Yikes! Do you have a good bottle of wine you havent packed up too? Many.....

[Edited 1/5/08 11:26am] I'd be sure to locate the best orthopedic surgeon in the country, and consult on treatment and possible future surgery. There's new treatment, that includes aspirating bone marrow from one site, and injecting it at the non healing fracture. I took care of someone a week ago, who fell off a roof, and had nonunion problems with a leg fracture. I'd never heard of it before.
