wow, that's a very good point but I think this is a bit better because no ones here to "hookup" with someone (at least I don't think so). the relationships here developed from hanging out chatting and so on as you would with some one in person.

true, and that probably made it easier to talk to people, having some pretense like music or something to take the focus off of the sexy stuff

for some people who are naturally shy, I think IMing is a non-threatening way to get to know someone (although maybe it's different when dating IS the goal hmmm ) the only thing is you get to know someone backwards, from the inside out, which kind of ends up being much more intense off the bat, so when you finally meet you feel you know a person through and through - but maybe you don't know them as well as you think you do? could it lull you into a false security?

Nothing beats the old fashioned way wink I say, get drunk, pick someone up at the pub and fuck their brains out. Then the next day you can introduce yourselves and decide whether you have a future together or not.

Agreed! I would never do it myself, but a lot of people seem to have no qualms about it.

any new relationship has risks, though.

I think if you're careful and don't meet for the first time in an abandoned alley it's as safe as hooking up with people the old fashioned way.

true, true they all have a level of risk, I just like the old fashion way better wink

Me too.
