2004 Napoleon Dynamite
2005 Revenge of the Sith
2006 Pan’s Labyrinth
2007 Hot Fuzz

P.S. This is just my own personal choice and not an official list.
I just edited out Duck Soup for King Kong (1933) and From Russia With Love for The Great Escape (1963).
I haven't yet seen such reputed classics as The Bourne Trilogy, Zodiac, Seven or Out of the Past (1947) which was on T.V. here late on New Years Day but I missed it cos it went under it's alternate title of Build My Gallows High ...GRRR!
Hot Fuzz only makes the list cos I haven't seen any other half decent movie which came out in 2007.

Second edit - Spirited Away makes way for Mulholland Dr. (2001).

The Maltese Falcon is great... but, um... Citizen Kane, for me.

WOW a list I can agree with for the most part. All of those are really good movies and I can see them making the best of list.

Any other suggestions for replacement movies? edit

Citizen Kane is overrated in my book as is Buster Keaton's The General.

I don't recall any of the movies that I saw between the years 1920-1949.
That period of time, I went into theatres more to make out with my dates more than I did to actually see the movie.
As a matter of fact,
my cherry got busted during I Am A fugitive From A Chain Gang.
Also, back then, it only cost half a sixpence for two bags of popcorn (....which in those days was called distended maize morsels).

I actually agree with much of your list.

However, for 1956 I would replace "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" with "Forbidden Planet".

Just my person choice.

I checked to see if you had Blade Runner for 1982. The rest is insignificant.

Napoleon Dynamite was such a shitty movie confused

Not sure if I agree with 'Hot Fuzz' being the best of 2007, but it sure as hell was good lol
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Interesting!
I haven't seen alot of those, 33 in fact (I counted 'em). I saw La Grande Illusion in a bargain bin for 3.99 a couple of years ago but I didn't get it and it was gone the next day.
We share 13 favourites and you've converted me on another. How could I have forgotten about Mulholland Drive?

You can't have both Jaws and Hanging rock though, they were both 1975. Two of the main contenders for film of 1971 are on T.V. here today. The French Connection and Willy Wonka.
