MAGNOLIA - Grade C (I was expecting more since I LOVED Boogie Nights)
A MIGHTY HEART - Grade B+ (Angelina was fab but obviously a downer though)
V FOR VENDETTA - Grade A (I want to watch it again)
SUPERBAD - Grade A+ (My favorite of the year I think)

I watched Super Bad, Knocked Up, Karate Kid, and A Christmas Story. All of them were fantastic

I watched Conan the Barbarian for the umpeenth time again, this time the special edition with all the bonus footage...I hate John Milius but Arnold and John Milius were the best duo for this kind of movie.

I watched Sweet November again, with Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron ...they´re not exactly my favorite actors but I loved this movie though the storyline was very similar to that movie with Richard Gere and Winona Ryder.

Clerks II....never got around to watching it...was pleasently surprised, laughing, tears rolling down my face...really funny, in a primitive way. Kevin Smith must be a really nice guy to hang around with.

Also watched Deathproof..it´s OK for what it is, and very authentic in trying to come across like those classic muscle car road movies of the 70s but that´s about it...not much substance, really. Still, a decent hommage to those kind of movies.

The Flock, with Richard Gere...too predictable and too dark and depressing.About some sort of profiler guy who hunts down rapists..good topic, weak movie.

And I watched The Godfather again...for the millionth time..still great. And yes, I also like the third part, with Sofia Coppolla, even though everybody except me seems to hate that poor girl .

Another really good film was this French film , a road movie, about a girl leaving for Australia. She wants to meet her lover in Spain and decides to visit her father for the very last time before she leaves, and she hasn´t seen him in years, and then they go on the road together and reestablish their relationship ...great flic with supersexy Florinda Harvey. Can´t remember the original title of the movie.

I AM LEGEND - Saw this on Christmas Day...have you ever had to watch a movie from row number 2??? (Why do they even put those rows up there, they know that's a bad seat, why not add more rows to the back???) The house was packed. until the end.

NACHO LIBRE - "Ignacio, where is your robe?", "It was, ah, stinky" and the ever classic, "GET THAT CORN OUT OF MY FACE!!"

BALLS OF FURY - eh, a disappointment, but it had it's moments

RUSH HOUR 3 - That Prince opening almost made the movie for me These seem to be getting progressively worse, but still good fun.

Home alone 2 -seen it numerous times before, but it was a nice way for my son and I to spend Christmas Eve. Funny but didn't have the charm of the first one.

Knocked up-enjoyed this one very much. Very funny and more poignant than I expected.

Sweeney Todd- saw the play on Broadway, so I knew what to expect but Burton did an excellent job, very stylistic. The singing was marginal at best (especially compared to the stage show) but overall a good movie.

MADAGASCAR - My family and I love this movie, especially the lemur who sings, "I like to move it, move it!" The penguins are pretty cute too.

THE POLAR EXPRESS - Rapidly becoming one of my favorite Christmas movies, although there are a couple of characters in it that I'm not to crazy about.

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS - Cute, cute movie! A good movie to take your kids to see, because it's clean. No swearing, sex or other junk that makes it unfriendly for kids to watch.

I Am Legend - I thought this was somewhat disappointing. Not horrible, but after a while it looked like a more polished, stylized version of "28 Days Later" except without the annoying female screaming "It's infected!" The first hour of the movie was excellent, but the ending became formulaic.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story - I wanted to see something silly, but this was a little sillier than I had expected, but just short of slapstick. I also wasn't expecting to see full frontal male nudity either. However, it had it's moments where I laughed out loud.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets - I saw this in a packed theater on Christmas Day, and while the critics savaged this movie, if you take it for what it is - a poor man's Indiana Jones - it's still entertaining. You just have to suspend some of your belief in reality.

Juno - This is an excellent movie, and I highly recommend that everyone see this. It's about a high school girl who gets pregnant and decides to put her baby up for adoption. She befriends a couple who want to adopt her baby.

Goodfellas - What better way to celebrate Christmas than by seeing one of the best mob movies ever made.

Funny that someone like Heston, who is a very conservative ( and at times ignorant) man made such movies back then, full of social criticism and all.

In all of those movies, a deadly virus kills off most of the population, but in "The Omega Man" the infected survivors turn into psychotic killers who can think and reason, where as in "The Last Man On Earth" the infected survivors turn into vampires, and in "I Am Legend" the infected survivors have vampiric tendencies but act more like zombies. Also in "The Omega Man", Charlton Heston's character runs into a colony of slightly infected survivors who are sick but haven't quite turned murderous yet, so he tries to find a cure for them so they can leave Los Angeles and set up a colony in the valley. Also, "The Omega Man" has plotlines which are more like the Mad Max movies and not Dracula or the Living Dead zombie series.
